Zion-Mount Carmel Highway
The main part of the park is called the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. It cuts through the park from the south entrance to the east. The road goes up the side of a mountain, giving you really nice views of the valley. It’s like a pretty road all on its own.

On this walk, you can see three lovely waterfalls that fall down onto the rocks below. You usually start at the Zion Lodge. The trail is easy and passes waterfalls and pools. You can also get there from the Kayenta Trail and Grotto Trail.
Pa’rus Trail
Another choice is the Pa’rus Trail. It’s a smooth path that doesn’t go uphill too much. You can complete the trail in about two hours. This walk starts from the visitor center near the park entrance and goes to Canyon Junction. What’s neat is that you can take your dog on this path, unlike most other trails in Zion National Park.
